Scopus Journal Rankings 2025 Are Out!

We are delighted to announce the latest Scopus CiteScore results for the European Journal of Geography (EJG), reflecting another year of significant growth in the journal’s academic visibility and impact.

The EJG achieved a CiteScore of 3.0 in 2025, marking a substantial increase from 1.8 in 2024 and continuing the journal’s strong upward trajectory over recent years.

The latest Scopus rankings place the European Journal of Geography among the leading journals in several research fields:

• Urban Studies: Top 34% - Q2 (#98/295)

• Demography: Top 30% - Q2 (#42/140)

• Geography, Planning and Development: Top 40% - Q2 (#347/876)

These results demonstrate the journal’s growing international presence and its increasing influence across geography and the broader social sciences. The improvement in both CiteScore and subject rankings reflects the quality of the research published in EJG and the expanding engagement of the global academic community with the journal.
